The Giver
In Jonas’s community, all people are color blinded. The reason why the elders selected this decision is because people could fight over something because of the color. But if they are all color blinded, everything would be same and there would be no fight. And also if there were colors, it would give the people in Jonas’s community an opportunity to make a decision on something. And if they did, they might make the wrong choice, and that would cause a problem. Also, if there were colors, people would have to make lots and lots of clothes, and the community would run out of fabric, etc.
In my opinion, Jonas’s community is the right place to live, because it’s safe, and there are no problems. But, I would still like to live in the world I live in right now, and I would still like to see colors. The reason why I want to see colors are because they are so beautiful and it would be a waste if we couldn’t see it. And it’s so much fun picking out clothes, shoes, etc because there are colors. Without the existence of color, there’s not much to choose from (Because they’re all the same).

Color can be a problem and you've identified it well. I'm very interested in your response where you say Jonas' community is the right place to live. Ok, but then you say you wouldn't want to live there. How is this? Right, but not wanting to live there?
